The joy of effortless navigation
Mr & Mrs Ward of Heads Nook, Carlisle, contacted our team to help them transform their kitchen in both an aesthetic and navigational sense. Since the property’s previous owners had built an extension which created separate kitchen and dining areas, several issues became apparent.
The space was awkward to navigate, which was further exacerbated by the presence of a large island in the centre of the kitchen. This also created the issue of limited space, and so our designers set to work re-arranging the layout to become simpler to navigate with more ample space to cook, socialise and store essentials.
The solution was to remove the existing island and replace it with a peninsula. This both simplified the flow of the space and elevated the visual consistency since it kept the clean lines of the countertops unbroken. Merging the kitchen and dining rooms also resulted in a brighter and airier space.
